Bomb Blast Films Provide Effective Safety

Glass windows would shatter and fly around if an explosion takes place nearby. These shards of broken glasses can fly everywhere and can badly hurt people. In public places, especially the town centres or the underground tube stations, these can be a highly risky situation. When bomb blast protection films are used on the windows, not only you can prevent injuries but can even save lives. Thankfully, many agencies install bomb blast protection films on domestic windows.

The glass protection film is 275 microns thick which is more than 1 cm. Due to this thickness, it protects the glass very well. Although this is fairly thick of a film, it doesn't look like that and you will not notice any significant change. The edges are not seen as it fits onto the glass very well and it doesn't obstruct the clean view either. As this film is transparent, the natural light comes in and it doesn't make your room dull and depressing.

While preventing injuries during an explosion is the primary purpose of this film, there is another benefit. The film makes the windows stronger and thus, it is difficult for intruders to break in. thus, these films incre3ase the security of the house as well.

The ideal first step before installing the window would be to survey the site. Window specialists would visit your place and check the glasses and frames of the windows. If the glass isn't blast proof, putting on the film wouldn't work. The glass would be more shattered during the blast, causing even greater risk of injuries.

Once the glass is installed correctly, the film can be pasted on. It can be pasted internally without dislodging the glass. Dow corning might be used in the process if the installers think it is needed. It is a structural sealant which goes over the film and around the edges.

Finally, when everything is done, one can have effective protection from the blasts. This isn't necessary only to save your family from the terrorist attacks.  Even blast occurring due to natural accidents, like a cylinder of inflammable compounds catching fire and blasting, will not cause greater harm if these films are installed.

Bomb blast screens are tested by the British and European safety standards and they fully adhere to the requirements. It is as safe as bomb blast proof glasses and cost only half of the cost and can be installed quickly as well.
